More than spacious enough for 16 people, the house is luxuriously furnished and beautifully decorated to create a welcoming home. There are nine bedrooms, seven of which have Superking beds and are en-suite. Five of these en-suite bedrooms have the flexibility of being twin rooms.
Some of the bedrooms have their own private outdoor spaces with loungers. Overlooking the west garden and enjoying the afternoon sun on Corcho’s terrace is a favourite spot for our guests.
The bedrooms are generous in size and wrap around the central courtyard with three located on the first floor and the remainder at ground floor level. All of the bedrooms are named after trees and plants that can be found in the grounds surrounding the house. The floor plan at the bottom of this page shows the layout in detail.
We’ve tried to think of everything you might need in your bedrooms and bathrooms, including gorgeous La-Eva organic toiletries, hairdryers, WiFi and cooling ceiling fans. There is also a cot and highchair for our smaller guests.
If there’s anything else you need our house & estate managers, Victoria & Juan Antonio, live in self-contained private accommodation adjacent to the main house and have been looking after Finca Avedin and our guests for many years. They are available to answer any questions and provide guidance throughout your stay. Marleen our English-speaking Sales manager is nearby and can be contacted by phone.
There’s so much space to enjoy at Finca Avedin. At the heart of the house are two spacious living rooms with fireplaces.
The large kitchen benefits from new appliances including a Range cooker with two ovens and six burner gas-hob. There are also two dishwashers and everything else you would expect in a modern kitchen.
The kitchen opens on to the central courtyard with herb garden. It has a BBQ area with drinks fridge and sink. Trees and flowers surround a central dining table which seats up to 16 people. It’s a perfect spot to cook and dine with friends.
On the other side of the house, the main living rooms open on to a large covered terrace with the most spectacular views towards Castillo del Aguila. There’s another wonderful 16 seat al-fresco dining area here as well as a lounge area looking onto the lawn below.
There are several other terraces and quiet seating areas dotted around the property, including a stunning ‘sundowner’ terrace below the pool with sofa seating.
One of our many pathways leads from the main house to the stunning private pool area. Totally secluded and secured by the gates and plants that surround it, this beautifully landscaped infinity pool is unique and a magnificent spot from which to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views as you swim or relax.
The pool is solar heated (when required) and a great size at llm x 15.5m. There is a 19m ‘lap lane’ when swimming diagonally. The approximate total pool area is nearly 200sqm so big enough for fun, relaxing or exercising.
The wider pool area includes a pool house with fridge, shower and toilet as well as a shaded seating area. There’s a table tennis table and plenty of sunloungers and seating for everyone to enjoy.
For larger parties, we have extra accommodation in our spacious Lotus Belle Tent and cosy La Casita. Both have private bathrooms.
The tent is a short stroll from the main house, overlooking beautiful planting with stunning private views towards the Castillo del Aguila. It is spacious and comfortably furnished with two single beds, lighting and a freestanding fan.
Tucked away behind the house and with its own access, La Casita offers separate accommodation for two. Ideal for teenagers who would prefer a bit more privacy and often used by our guests for their nanny and other members of staff, the casita has twin beds, an en-suite shower room and a small kitchenette area.
Finca Avedin encompasses 15 acres in all and is home to an extensive variety of flowers, shrubs, trees and other plants, including cork forest, olive and almond groves. This in turn attracts a variety of fauna, especially birds and butterflies. We are particularly proud to have attracted Monarch butterflies back to the valley as part of our journey to re-establish older more diverse ecosystems.
Depending on the time of year, there’s often plenty of fresh produce to savour on the sweeping market garden terraces between the house and pool. Lemon, lime, orange, tangerine, kiwi fruit, citrus caviar, pear, avocado, pomegranate, fig and custard apple trees sit alongside large beds for melons, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, chillies and other produce. All are there to support a range of meals (or cocktails!) and Victoria can help you identify what’s in season during your stay.
Gaucín is on a major migratory route to Africa so you can enjoy a stunning array of birdlife. Griffon vultures can be seen on most days and scores of resident Martins flock to the pool on summer evenings.
Other facilities include table tennis, a boules area by the main lawn and a basketball net on the flat ground above the main entrance. There’s also plenty of space for parking.
